·       Play basketball year round

·       Playing  2 or 3 times per week

ü Sundays, 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM

ü Weekdays, 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM

·       We play pickup games

ü Run two games simultaneously

ü Games to 15, 13, or 11 depending on number of players

ü Play with 3-point line, baskets 2 or 3 points.

Over the Backboard

II. BACKBOARD

7. On an unsuccessful field goal attempt, the ball hits the basket ring and rebounds over and behind the face of the backboard. The ball returns to the floor and touches inbounds without having touched any of the backboard supports. Is the ball to remain in play? No. A violation shall be called on the last team to touch the ball before it went directly behind the backboard. The ball is awarded to the opposing team for a throw-in at the free throw line extended. RULE 8 - SECTION II - b

8. Player A1 has control of the ball near the endline and passes the ball behind the backboard (never touching the supports) to Player A2. Is this legal or illegal? Illegal. Same reason as #7 above. RULE 8 - SECTION II - b

9. On an unsuccessful field goal attempt, the ball rebounds off the basket ring and rolls along the top edge of the backboard. Is the ball still in play? Yes. All four sides of the backboard are considered inbounds. RULE 4 - SECTION I - c

10. Player A1 passes the ball and it hits his backboard. May Player A1 be the first to touch the ball? Yes. A player may be the first to touch his own pass, or shot, if the ball touches his basket ring, backboard or another player. RULE 10 - SECTION XIII – g

Lloyd Road Men's Basketball - MARCH

Following is the "current" "March" Gym schedule for Lloyd Road. See attached WORD document for a calendar view of month's schedule.

 

      Note: Gym availability is subject to change, we'll provide an update

                 as soon as we know of any changes. Please check for any updates

                 prior to leaving for the gym.

 

      Note1: Gym doors, from court yard, will be locked ~ 9:00 PM. This will

                ensure no access to the gym once we leave. Please keep this in

                mind if you step out to the court yard or to your car, as someone

                will have to open the door so you can reenter the gym.

 

Spring recess, Easter break, runs from Friday, March 25, through Friday, April 01. We are trying to negotiate a couple of days during this period where we'll be able to play ball. We'll keep you informed.

Following is the "updated" "February" Gym schedule for Lloyd Road. See attached WORD document for a calendar view of month's schedule.

Due to snow day on Friday - 02/05, school dance was cancelled and is now rescheduled for this Friday, 02/19.

 

      Note: Gym availability is subject to change, we'll provide an update

Lloyd Road 2015 Winter Session starts Sunday 1-1-15

Lloyd Road Basketball 2015 Winter Session starts Sunday, 01/11.

Cost for 2015 Winter Session is the same as our previous session,  $60.00. For 2015 Winter Session we'll also be playing four times/week; Sunday morning, Tuesday night, Wednesday evening, and Friday evening.

2015 Winter session will run through May 09, the Summer session from May 10 through September 12, and our Fall 2015 session from September 13 through January 09, 2016.

For the next four weeks, 01/11 through 02/07, we be conducting a "closed" registration, where all players who have played in the last year are eligible to register. All others, "new" players, will be placed on a waiting list until the "closed" registration ends. Starting Sunday, 02/08, registration will be open to everyone if we haven't reached our player limit. During the "closed" registration period, "new" players will be allowed to play on Tuesday and Friday, our low attendance sessions.

New for 2015 is "open" gym on Tuesday and Friday, our low attendance sessions. For $5.00 each Tuesday/Friday players not registered for the 2015 Winter Session will be allowed to play. Maximum cost to a player would be $40.00, after which the $5.00 for each Tuesday/Friday is waived. Note: Players participating in our "open" gym have to complete and sign a registration form.

Attached are Lloyd Road Basketball Registration form, Insurance Waver information, and Basketball Rules. Please complete sign and mail with your check to LRMB. Signing the registration form indicates your agreement to the rules, and that you have read the insurance waver form.

Our preferred method of payment, is for you to mail in a check to LRMB.

For the ones who have already paid, please complete/sign and turn in the registration form.

Sign Up time period has come to an end....

This Friday, 05/23, marks the end of the Summer registration period. Only PAID players will be allowed starting Sunday, 05/25.

Please send a $45 check to LRMB PO Box 636, Matawan NJ 07747. NO ONE CAN PLAY IF THEY HAVE NOT PAID. We do not have the volunteer manpower to maintain partial payments and the 

visitors rule.

Mothers Day- We are filling up......

We are playing Mothers Day...get the "run" in early and wish all the Mothers Happy Moms Day...

This session is filling up quickly- REMEMBER:WE WILL CLOSE THE DOOR AT 50 PLAYERS. This session will close registration on Monday May 19th.

We have eliminated the "guest rule"(no visitors). No partial pays.(no one has volunteered to maintain both programs)

The next session start on Sept 1.

1) WE ARE CLOSED FRIDAY NOV 1-Jolly Mouse Craft Fair

2) New Adopted rules are attached. The two new changes are: the three point line has been adopted "as is" (two's and one's to 11-to 9 when 31players)(Rule 1H),The visitor/standby rule(Rule 3B)-if you are not on the paid list,you can only play when its under 25 players -$5 a night. Visitors play after paid players.

3) THIS SESSION IS CLOSED(we have reached max capacity) If you have any issues, please contact Tom-Marlon(committee members). Informative emails will be sent to paid session players only.

Hello All,

Please note the start time on Wednesdays is 7:30- the moms & kids have the time slot right before us. Lets not encroach on their time. PLEASE ARRIVE AT 7:30 sharp.

The lost & found area is in OUR locker.

We have to thank the MARSD(Matawan Aberdeen Regional School District) for the defibrillator they had installed right outside the gym doors. We attached a picture.

Can you please hit "reply" and give your opinion about the 3 point line AS IT EXISTS.. yes or no.
